Dear Parent/Guardian(s),
OHS Castleton provides an educational environment designed to promote academic, emotional and social skills, empowering students to succeed in school and life. With the blending of small class size, and individual and group counseling, the program provides an atmosphere and facility where students are provided the opportunity to gain credits toward earning a high school diploma.
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Oceanside High School Castleton. Our goal is to provide a safe, motivational, and productive environment for students in an alternative setting designed to meet their individual needs. Along with you, we work as a team to help all of our students achieve success.
All academic subjects, selected electives, and special education services are offered. All students attend a once a week mandatory counseling session as part of social/emotional learning. Field trips are an integral part of the curriculum throughout the year.
Students follow a schedule of Periods 1 – 9, which includes a 27-minute segment (Period 4) that provides students with the ability to take advantage of a range of services, including a testing center, daily extra-help, assistance with exam preparation, credit recovery, and opportunities to meet with the counseling and guidance staff.
